This notice explains how your personal data are processed when you use the mirasisaz.com website, in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

No account is needed to use the site
You don't need to give a name, email address or any other information to play the instruments, do ear training or use the tools. The site contains no advertising. Cookies are used only with your permission, for visitor statistics (Google Analytics).
Which data are processed, and for what purpose?
Preferences stored in your browser
Your chosen language, color theme, instrument view, stage background, sound source and ear training progress are kept only in your own browser (local storage). This information is not sent to us; you can delete it at any time in your browser settings. Your favourites, the scores in My notations, your unfinished practice and your learning path progress are likewise kept only in your browser; they are not sent to us unless you create a sync code.
Microphone
If you turn on the microphone for the tuner, the intonation mirror, the makam finder or “Play and get scored” in the learning path, the sound is processed only on your device, inside the browser. The sound is not recorded and is not sent to any server; only the result (e.g. your score) is stored in your browser. Microphone permission is requested by your browser and can be withdrawn at any time.
Visit statistics
We count how much each page is visited and in which language. No IP address, cookie or other information identifying a person is stored in this count; only totals at the level of page, language and day are kept. How many times the PDF scores of works are downloaded or opened is counted in the same way; for this we only check whether the link came from this site or from elsewhere (e.g. a search engine), and this is not stored either. On the first page of a visit, we also count, in the same way and only as totals, which site the visitor came from (only that site's name, e.g. google.com; not the address or search terms), the device type (phone, tablet, computer) and the page where the visit started.
Google Analytics
To understand how the site is used we run Google Analytics 4 in consent mode (Consent Mode). If you choose Accept in the cookie notice, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends information such as the pages visited, approximate location (country, city), device and browser type and where you came from to Google (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC); the legal basis is your explicit consent (KVKK art. 5/1 and art. 9). If you do not consent or you decline, no cookies are set and no identifier that recognises you is created; only a cookieless, anonymous page-view signal (page, time, device type) is sent to Google, which uses such signals to produce aggregate statistical estimates. IP addresses are not stored in Google Analytics 4. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of the page. Data are kept in Google Analytics for at most 14 months.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are processed in order to reply to you. Legal basis: fulfilling your request and your wish to contact us (KVKK Art. 5/2-c and f). This information is kept for at most 2 years and then deleted.
Bug reports
The message you send from the "Report a bug / suggest" window, your optional e-mail address and the page context (page, language, makam and playing settings, screen size) are processed to fix the problem and reply to you. If you leave no e-mail, only the report's ID and a random reply key are stored in your browser; when you come back, our reply is requested with this key and shown only in this browser. You can write to us to have your report deleted.
Newsletter
If you leave your email address to be notified about new instruments and content, your address is processed only for this purpose and on the basis of your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5/1). You can withdraw your consent at any time; it is enough to write to us. Your address is not shared with third parties.
Score submissions
If you use the Submit a score form, your name, e-mail address, the score file you send and the details of the piece are processed to review the score, add it to the archive and tell you the outcome. Legal basis: fulfilling your request (KVKK art. 5/2-c). If your score is published, only the score and the details of the piece are published under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence; your name and e-mail address are not published. Submission data is kept for at most 2 years.
Sync between devices
If you create a sync code on the My practice page, your favourites, recently viewed pieces, unfinished practice, the scores in My notations and your learning path progress are stored on our server so that they can be merged across your devices. The record is named by a hash of the randomly generated code; no name, email address or IP address is added to it. Anyone who knows the code can access this data, so use the code only on your own devices. Legal basis: fulfilling your request (KVKK art. 5/2-c). A record unused for a year is deleted automatically; you can ask for it to be deleted immediately by writing to us with your code.
Class (teacher board)
If you create a class as a teacher, the class name and the homework lessons you choose are stored on our server; only a hash of the teacher key that opens the board is kept. If you join a class as a student, the nickname you enter, a random identifier generated by your browser and only your progress in the homework lessons (completed steps and scores) are stored for the purpose of showing them to that class's teacher. No name, email or IP address is requested or added to this record; you don't have to use your real name. Legal basis: fulfilling your request (KVKK Art. 5/2-c). The teacher can delete the class or a student's record at any time; a class unused for one year is deleted automatically.
Server logs
For security and error detection, the servers of our hosting provider may keep, for a limited period, technical logs containing IP addresses and request information. Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligations (KVKK Art. 5/2-ç and f).
Transfer of data
Data are stored on the servers of the hosting provider in Türkiye where the site is hosted and are not shared with third parties except where required by law. The exception is Google Analytics: with your consent, statistics are transferred to Google's servers abroad on the basis of that consent; without it, only cookieless, non-identifying signals are sent.
Your rights (KVKK Art. 11)
You have the right to learn whether your personal data are processed; to request information if they have been processed; to learn the purpose of processing and whether they are used in accordance with that purpose; to know the third parties to whom they are transferred; to request their correction if they are incomplete or inaccurate, and their erasure or destruction; to request that these operations be notified to the parties to whom the data were transferred; to object to an outcome against you resulting from automated analysis; and to claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.
You can send your requests to info@mirasisaz.com. Requests are answered free of charge within 30 days at the latest.
