    Hacı Ârif Bey developed heart disease about a year before his death and died on 28 June 1885, shortly after composing this kürdîlihicazkâr song. Where he died is told in two ways: in his room at the Muzıka-yi Hümâyun, or at a friend’s waterside mansion in Kuruçeşme.
