Life

An Ottoman grand vizier, also remembered as the conqueror of Kanije. He was trained in the Enderun; he served as silahdar (sword-bearer), agha of the Janissaries, beylerbeyi of Rumelia and governor of Egypt, and was called “Dâmad” (son-in-law) because he married Ayşe Sultan, daughter of Murad III. He was grand vizier three times under Mehmed III and died on 10 July 1601. He should not be confused with Nevşehirli Dâmad İbrahim Paşa, grand vizier of the Tulip Era.[1, 2]
