In brief
Life
Sources record that he died in 1652. He is thought to be the same person as Ali Pasha, governor of Basra, who is listed in Esad Efendi's biographical work Atrabü'l-âsâr among the leading composers of the early years of Sultan Mehmed IV's reign. Esad Efendi writes that he had a beautiful voice and about ten compositions conforming to the rules of music. His surviving segâh yürük semâî was for the last two centuries wrongly attributed to Ebûbekir Ağa.
