In brief
Life
Born in Üsküdar, Istanbul, he died in 1891. He was a hânende and composer; he was trained by Dellâlzâde and Hâşim Bey and directed the Aksaray Kız Sanâyi Mektebi (Girls' School of Crafts). He produced works in many sacred and secular forms such as the âyin, kâr, ilahi and şarkı. Lemi Atlı, Hacı Kirâmî Efendi and the later sultan Mehmed VI were among his students.
