Born in the second half of the 17th century in Hasköy, Edirne. Thanks to his beautiful voice he was admitted first to the Edirne Palace and then to the Enderun, where he learned music and calligraphy and became a master calligrapher in the ta'lik script. He was one of the hânendes and composers of the Tulip Era and died in Istanbul towards the end of that era. He composed mostly vocal works in the large forms; his Hüseynî nakış yürük semai “Gönüller uğrusu” and his Şehnaz yürük semai are well known.[1, 2]
