Life

Kazzaz Hasan Çelebi was a singer and composer born and active in Istanbul. His actual trade is recorded as silk-working, which is also the source of his nickname. His fame reached its peak during the reign of Mustafa II. Esad Efendi writes that he composed about thirty works; his religious works appear in lyric anthologies. Although the lyrics of a tevşîh and two ilâhis are known, the notation of none of his works has survived.[1, 2]
