Life
He was a poet and music scholar of the late Ottoman period. In 1898, in the newspaper Sabah, he described a plan for a work that would collect the lives of Ottoman musicians, and he published biographical articles on composers. His writings on Abdülkādir-i Merâgī were criticised by Rauf Yektâ Bey for not citing sources, and a long dispute between the two writers followed in the newspapers.
