In brief
Life
He lived in the late 17th century. Kantemiroğlu (Dimitrie Cantemir) mentions him in his history of the Ottoman Empire as 'Kamboso Mehmed Ağa', one of the masters of the period, and his notation collection records an uşşak peşrev in the hafif usul under his name. The uşşak peşrev played under his name today, however, is thought to be an anonymous nazire (imitative composition) written on that earlier work in the same makam and usul, known as the 'Kanbos Nazîresi'.
