Kemençeci Nikolaki

He was born in Istanbul and died there around 1915. One of the city's Greek musicians, he is remembered as an exceptional kemençe player and was renowned for köçekçe and oyun havası pieces in kabasaz ensembles of kemençe, lavta and percussion. For many years he worked with the Kyriazis brothers and played at their restaurant in Galata. He composed instrumental works, chiefly peşrev and saz semâisi, as well as şarkı.
