In brief
Life
He was a tanbur master who lived in Istanbul in the late Ottoman period; he was called "Küçük" (the Younger) to distinguish him from his famous contemporary, the tanbur player Büyük Osman Bey. His death was announced in the Istanbul newspaper Sabah on 27 December 1916. Sources differ on the year of his death; the TDV İslâm Ansiklopedisi gives 1900. A peşrev of his in the makam Eviç has survived.[1, 2]
