In brief
Life
Osman Şükrü Şenozan was born in Süleymaniye, Istanbul; after graduating from the Faculty of Medicine he worked as a physician and director of health in Lesbos (Midilli), Muğla and İzmir; he took part in the War of Independence and later became a member of parliament for Kastamonu. He began music with Zekâi Dede and took lessons in makam and usul from his son Ahmed Irsoy; he played the ney a little and frequented the İzmir Mevlevîhane. He composed şarkıs and marches; he died in 1954.[1, 2, 3]
