Born in 1921 in Karaman, he died in 1954 in Ankara. He grew up in İzmir and joined Radio Ankara as a vocalist in 1943. He composed about thirty şarkıs; some of them show a neoclassical style in the line of Hacı Ârif Bey and Hacı Fâik Bey. His şarkıs in Hüzzam and Kürdîlihicazkâr are still frequently sung today.
