Kanûnî Mehmed Sâlih Bey, also known as Beykozlu Mehmed Bey, was born in Beykoz, Istanbul. In the Enderun he learned music from Suyolcu Latif Ağa and Hacı Ârif Bey and the kanun from Kanûnî Edhem Bey; he taught the kanun in the Mızıka-yı Hümayun and led the Enderun İncesaz Ensemble. A masterly kanun performer, a good ud player and a skilled notator, Mehmed Bey left works that are mostly peşrevs and saz semais; he died in 1927 in Istanbul.[1, 2]
