Düm-tek pattern
In notation
Single-line notation: right-hand strokes (düm, te) above the line, left-hand strokes (tek, ke) below; durations shown as note values.
9/8: one cycle is 9 units; the width of each box is the length of the stroke.
Small usul 9 beats
A special four-stroke pattern of the very fast mertebe of the Aksak usul; it is mostly written in 9/8 instead of 9/16. Rauf Yektâ refers to the fast (yürük) aksak by this name; it is used in şarkı, türkü, köçekçe and lively dance tunes.
